Fugue #2 for Clarinet Choir and Rhythm
Another, more extended, three-part fugue exercise in F major with a subject by Eric Timan. This keyboard fugue was written for my harmony professor at Kneller Hall, Dr Gordon Reynolds, as an extra study piece. Among my associated scores in this catalogue there are a number of wind and string trio arrangements to keep you busy, if you would like to share this piece in a concert setting.
Three Vienna Woods Quartets for Clarinet Quartet
Three evocative hunting horn tunes from the Vienna forest, here arranged for clarinets. Also available separately. These are perfect if you have some spare clarinetists for the afternoon, plus four horses, some forest….and time to chase the wildlife! Go on – it’s something different isn’t it?
Three Vienna Woods Quartets for Clarinet Quartet, Movement 1 “The Glory of God in Nature”
Three Vienna Woods Quartets – for Clarinets – 2nd Movement – Little Polka
Three Vienna Woods Quartets – for Clarinets – 3rd Movement – St Hubert’s Fanfare
Golden At My Feet – For Clarinet Quartet
This is an arrangement of an arrangement. Originally for Male voices, then a horn quartet, it has now been suggested as a clarinet quartet. The difficulty is rated on the low compass of the top part – it has to be mellow. A poem inspired its composition, but I cannot find the source of it. Enjoy the pathos and the ‘fiery wine’ section.
Le Basque – for Clarinet Quartet
A clarinet quartet arrangement of this little French tune by Marin Marais. This is more difficult for the three upper parts – they are all soloistic in shared-out four bar phrases. This is great fun to play for better matched players. Enjoy – and show off!
Pathetique Rondo Allegro – for Clarinets [3 Bbs & Bass Clt]
Here is yet another version of my bassoon quartet arrangement from among Beethoven’s wealth of challenging piano sonatas. Clarinets will handle this version better than bassoons, because its in a better range – and also in the original key. It goes well at 94 beats per minute, but it sounds very exciting at 100!
Le Basque for Flute Quartet (Mixed Lead)
Another version of the flute quartet arrangement of this little French tune by Marin Marais. This is more difficult for the three upper parts – they are all soloistic in shared-out four bar phrases. This is great fun to play for better matched players. Enjoy – and show off!
We’re Busy Doing Nothing – for Flute Quartet
A fugato, contrapuntal and close harmony setting of this funny little tune from ‘Connecticut yankee in King Arthur’s Court’ starring Bing Crosby – among others. A demanding piece for all the players, as it goes high for everyone at some point, and the tune runs about all over the place – but must always be be given room to sound through the texture. Enjoy this one!
